A Must-Visit Winery in Virginia: Mount Ida Reserve
October is Virginia wine month, so naturally this is my favorite time of year to visit local wineries! I recently visited Mount Ida Reserve Tasting Room & Taphouse. This tasting room, which opened its doors in 2018, is nestled in the heart of Virginia’s picturesque wine country and is located just 25 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. They offer visitors a scenic escape with mountain views, delicious food, a warming facility and exceptional wine and beer. It’s rare to find a place in Virginia wine country that produces both quality wine and beer in the same place! This makes it the perfect spot for gatherings because there is something for everyone.

Mount Ida Reserve Tasting Room & Taphouse truly comes to life with the changing seasons, offering a wide range of seasonal activities and events. On their website you can stay up to date on new events. At the end of October, they are having a Trick or Treat Craft Beer + Wine Fest, Sunday October 29th. It will feature local breweries and wineries! They also have a Sunset Music Series every Saturday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Personally, I’ve always loved visiting Mount Ida Reserve during the holidays because they decorate the property with lights and Christmas trees and it feels so festive!
