While earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy — an experience that completely changed the way I viewed wine, food, and culture.
During my time abroad, I discovered that wine was so much more than just a beverage. It was a way of life, an art form, and a meaningful connection between people, places, and traditions. Returning home with a deeper appreciation for wine and cultures beyond my own, my curiosity quickly turned into a passion.
In 2018, I started The American Wine Girl™ as a creative outlet and a space to share approachable wine recommendations with friends and followers. What began as a passion project soon grew into a platform centered around wine education, travel, and storytelling. A major part of my journey has been bringing my audience along as I continued to deepen my wine knowledge and education.
In 2025, I passed the WSET Level 4 Diploma, one of the wine industry’s most advanced certifications.
Since launching The American Wine Girl™, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible brands and regions including Champagne Taittinger, Wine Enthusiast, Bordeaux Wines, Chianti Wine Consortium, and Vinho Verde Wines, among others.
without the snobbery that is often associated with the wine industry. I also hope to inspire people through travels and share lifestyle aspects of my daily life.
